Presentation
The National Port Company of Champerico (EPNAC), in coordination with the local government and development entities, promotes a model of sustainable development that includes everyone, without discrimination of any kind, with special attention to discrimination of gender, ethnicity, race, age or area of residence. Promoting equality as a center for sustainable development by advocating a re-orientation of the development paradigm, in which equality must be the central objective and is an indispensable condition for achieving a region without poverty; Likewise, inclusive development is promoted as a new generation of policies and actions that help overcome poverty and reduce the inequality of peoples. In compliance with the principle of Corporate Social Responsibility, EPNAC will work to comply with the following:
Goal
To contribute to the improvement of the quality of life and development of the inhabitants of the municipality of Champerico, of the department of Retalhuleu.
Indicator
At least 15% of Champerico’s population improves their quality of life.
Actions
Develop cooperation agreements with institutions such as: Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT), Private Enterprise Workers Recreation Institute (IRTRA), Universities, Technical Institute for Training and Productivity (INTECAP), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that promote and strengthen knowledge management, generating curricula that meet technical needs for compliance with the established.
- Improve levels of well-being and education, through strategies for the eradication of the causes of poverty;
- Guarantee equity and equality of opportunities for the population in conditions of poverty, marginalization or vulnerability;
- Support the development of the capacities of people in conditions of poverty, marginalization or vulnerability; strengthen the social fabric, encouraging community participation and development;
- To promote a balanced regional and urban development, in harmony with nature, and to provide care for the environment, the organization of the territory, and the awareness of the need to preserve the natural wealth of the country;
- Coordinate with the local government to promote the orderly growth of the population centers, as well as the provision of the necessary urban infrastructure and equipment;
- Promote the creation of land reserves as a support instrument to satisfy the land requirements for housing and urban development.
- Establish knowledge management programs in areas of technical promotion (improvement in quality of service, food processing, facilities)
